Gus's 4th Birthday - Easter

Ok, so I know you all probably aren't that interested in photos of kids that you don't know and their birthday parties, but just humor me.  They're really darn cute and this is where I get to share my pictures with my friends (aka the parents of these darn cute kids that you don't know).

On Sunday, my boyfriend Gus had his 4th birthday party and Easter egg hunt.
It was an absolutely beautiful day and there was a great turnout.
All the little girls were in pretty Easter dresses.

And the little boys were handsome in their button-up shirts and khakis.
And the dads were handsome as always.
The party started off with a major Easter egg hunt.
Hundreds of eggs all over the yard.
And really, is there anything more precious than kids hunting for eggs?
I really don't think so.

They're so focused.
So determined.
So curious.
So careful.
So cautious.
So creative (yes, he's using a baseball bat to hunt eggs).
And SO proud of their loot!

But what's even better than finding eggs?
Eating the candy that's in them, of course!

That's a pretty good haul, if you ask me.

After candy, it was time for cake and ice cream!

Gus insisted on a Cardinal's baseball cake.
Perfect for the week of the season opener.
He was very excited to blow out candles.
And did NOT want his little sister's help!
He covered CeCe's mouth and pushed her away at the exact right time!
And then dug right in.

Then we moved right on to opening presents.

Opening presents is probably the highlight of any kid's birthday.

And Gus had lots of help opening his gifts and ohhh-ing and ahhh-ing over them.

Some of the presents were very appealing.
Ollie really loved this cape.
.
Some of the presents were not at all exciting (clothes), but the boxes they came in were!
But there was one person who was NOT happy about the situation.
CeCe was very upset that it wasn't HER birthday.
I believe the exact words out of her mouth were
"I WANT THE PRESENTS TO BE MINE."
Followed by a screaming, crying, meltdown.
Which I hate to say, was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
Sorry CeCe.
Does that make me a horrible person?

But the meltdown and removal of little sis didn't stop Gus.
I think he might have even been a little happy to see her go.
More toys for him!
.

Little stinker.
Happy birthday, Gus!
Hope you had a great one!
