*Yes, this post is a few weeks late...
Dear Baby Mac,
Well, it happened
again. I blinked and you are another month older. THREE MONTHS! Goodness gracious, how did that happen? I'm probably going to say
this every single month for the rest of your life, but this month was my
favorite month so far. Wow, you have changed and grown so much from that
tiny helpless little newborn. You are seriously the coolest baby I know…and
I don’t just say that to all the babies.
This month your personality is really
starting to show through. You are a very
happy kid and you absolutely love the sound of your own voice. You talk, squeal and babble more than any kid
I’ve ever met. You love having
conversations with me and every time you hear my voice you start jabbering
away. Sometimes we hang out on the
changing table forever just looking at each other and talking a mile a
minute. I sing songs to you and we play
peek-a-boo.
You also love standing! Daddy has been holding you up in his lap and
you stand like a champ. We’ve been
watching the Olympics and we think you could win a gold medal in the baby
standing event. You have great head
control and wonderful balance. And
speaking of watching the Olympics, you are definitely watching what’s going on
around you, including the games. You can
see across the room now and you love looking out windows or at the colors on
the TV. You were completely mesmerized
by the ribbons in the rhythmic gymnastics.
You’ve recently discovered your hands and
you must have them in your mouth at all times right now. I’m not sure if you’re teething or if you
just think they’re delicious, but you love them. You also love chewing on Sophie the Giraffe, burp
cloths and my fingers. It’s so amazing
to watch you work on getting the toy in your hand to your mouth where you want
it. It takes time and concentration, but you are so
smart and determined. It’s just incredible
to watch you learn right before my eyes.
You’re also starting to have strong
feelings about things. You have decided
that you hate taking baths longer than 4 minutes. You scream bloody murder when you’re hungry
and we can’t get a bottle ready fast enough for you. You also insist on holding the bottle
yourself. Your little hands are so
active. You like going on car rides, but
you hate it when the car stops at lights or in traffic. You can only sleep on your back if you’re
swaddled, otherwise you love to sleep in your swing or in my arms. You want to be upright all the time and do
not want to be held on your side or snuggled like a baby (unless you’re
eating). You are so curious, you need to
be looking around all the time.
Your daddy and I are just having the best
time in the world raising you. We love
being your parents. These three months
of maternity leave have been absolutely incredible. I’ve loved every second I spent with
you. I’m nervous about going back to
work, but I also know it’s the right move for our family and you’ll be in good
hands. In the meantime, I’m snuggling
with you as much as I possibly can. I
know you won’t be this tiny ever again and I’m trying to soak up every
second. I’m a little sad to see you
growing so fast, but then again, I can’t wait to see how you change in the next
few weeks! Every day just keeps getting
better.

Let's be honest, I don't really like being hungry for more than 1 second either. Cut the kid some slack! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this updated on your sweet one. He is an angel baby! And so handsome to boot! Love, love. XO
And, that last comment was from me. I have no idea why it showed up that way...weird!
ReplyDeleteI think all babies hate that darn snot sucker even though it has to feel good once that stuff is out! ha. He is so cute. I love his likes and dislikes.
ReplyDeleteI bought some bubbles at Target for SS around 4 months and she was really into just watching them. Give it a whirl if you think about it.
He is just such a handsome little baby. Happy 3 months!!
ReplyDeleteAnd he just keeps getting cuter!!
ReplyDeleteI thought most babies hated diaper changes, but for some reason, ours love them! I guess that's a good thing considering how often those diapers need changing. :)
I honestly do not say this often, so believe me when I tell you, that is the cutest darn baby I think I have ever seen! Like, really. I am not the type to tell someone their baby is cute if I don't think it is (and let's be honest, they aren't all cute), but your little man is just.so.adorable! Look at those eyes! I can't believe he is three months+ already! Ugh, time flies doesn't it?! What a cruel joke the world plays on us that while you desperately want them to stay teeny and innocent, you're dying to see how they'll grow up! Why can't we switch back and forth at will?!
ReplyDeleteI swear he gets cuter every time you post pictures of him! I love the list of his likes and dislikes. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteObviously I'm introducing him to the wonder of The Phantom of The Opera this weekend. Eeeeee!!!
ReplyDeleteseriously...could he be any cuter?!? and Elyse still has a pretty serious fascination with ceiling fans and she's 8 1/2 months old!
ReplyDeletehe's so precious...Elyse already has a long list, but think we could arrange their marriage? I mean they would have some absolutely GORGEOUS offspring! ha!
He is so precious!! He just keeps getting cuter and cuter!
ReplyDeleteYour son is so similar to my daughter at that age- literally, all of his dislikes are exactly the same as hers. The carseat issues should get better when he gets big enough to be in the convertible carseat and he's propped upright a little more. I used to dread traffic lights at that age- she could be about to fall asleep and if the car stopped she would wake up and start screaming.
ReplyDeleteMore good news is that Nora used to hate baths at that age but once she could sit up ~6 months old, she started liking them a lot more- hope it's true for you, too!
He is getting sooo long! He is so precious! Hayden is the same way about the car. If we are stopped he is screaming bloody murder but the second we move again he is fine hah! Silly boys!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Mac on the standing! Gold medal for sure :)
3 months! Oh my, time is flying by!! He is adorable. No kissing in public?? :(
ReplyDeleteHe's beyond beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh he doesn't like baths? I hope that changes. He's still pretty little so maybe once he can splash around!
ReplyDeleteHe's got the cutest face. Seriously. What a handsome fellow!
