My Favorite 80's Pop Music Running Playlist

I wanted to share some news with you all today - I think I might officially be back into running.  I have missed it so much!  I still don't have the time or energy to devote to training for a race or anything- it'll be a long time before I'm ready to run another half-marathon or even a 10K, but I'm slowly easing my way back and it feels great!  Ok, painful and hard, but great. Sometimes. Anywhoo, I put together this awesome 80's music playlist to listen to while I'm on the treadmill and it's been making the miles fly by, so I thought I'd share.  I always love getting song/playlist recommendations from friends, so I'm paying it forward.  This playlist starts you out a bit slow while you warm-up, pumps up the volume after the first song and keeps you going for miles.  I love it!  I hope you do too!

  1. Some good ones on there! And some I don't recognize. I have never gotten the Beastie Boys appeal---that's like sacrilege, right? Also, is Come Out and Play an 80s song? I thought I remembered that from college---mid 90s?

  3. Love this list! I have never been a runner, but am doing the Couch to 5K program to ease into it (this baby weight has got to go). For me, the key is getting my mind off the fact that I am running, so podcasts have been really helpful. Particularly ones that make you want to listen until the end (Serial, Mystery Show, etc.).

  5. My husband would love this playlist! He basically listens to the rock of ages soundtrack and has no clue about new music ;)

  6. My playlist is full of music I'd never let my kiddo(s) listen to. Think ridiculous workout rap and alternative. If you heard my playlist you might think you had you hands on some dudes music. Whoops. :)
I never thought to throw in some good 80s jams. Going to have to add those once the running shoes go back on!

  7. Not that I have the time or the energy or the drive to go to the gym (or even go for a walk - really, the laziness has got to get its butt kicked into gear) but I love 80s music and think it is so motivating! I'm going to bookmark this if (when!!!) I start getting my butt in gear and get moving!

  8. Yay for being back at it! I am a running fiend when I'm pregnant, but then it takes me forever to get back into after baby comes along! I love all your old jams. I tend to listen to more current music when I run so I don't get too bored with old favorites. But the endless pandora stations keep me entertained!

  9. Now, I have Psycho Killer in my head. I love that song. The whole playlist is awesome but that's the one that's in my head - "fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better, run run run run run run run away". Tee hee!

    Have a good weekend! :)

  11. I love the idea of running. But I don't love running... Also we might be soul mates based on your choice of 80s music. Just sayin! ;)

  12. When I think 80's playlist, it's the wedding singer soundtrack all day long! Maybe not the best for running though.
