I am so excited to share these photos with you today. For Mac's 3-year photo shoot, I knew I wanted to do something a little bit different. Like any typical 3-year old that constantly has a camera shoved in his face by his obnoxious mother, he despises getting his picture taken these days. I wanted to come up with something that he could do to distract him and occupy his attention while my amazing photographer, Kristie of L Photographie, took his picture. As anyone that has met him knows, he's really into dirt, digging and tractors. Kristie spent two months scouring the area and found us the most amazing location for a photo shoot -- on-site at the Bobcat St. Louis backlot, surrounded by diggers, dump trucks, dirt piles and so much mud!
I knew we weren't going to get the cute happy smiling photos, but honestly, that's ok because that's not really Mac. Mac is busy, active and wild. Yes, he can also be goofy and silly, but he's a very strong-willed intense boy and I love that these photos really capture his personality. They show how hard-working and determined he is. They show his focus and moodiness and his love for the outdoors and dirt. You can tell just by looking at these photos that he's curious, adventurous and all boy. I love that we went a different route and found a way to make sure his personality shined through - 3 is a tough age, but it's so much fun. I absolutely couldn't be any happier with the way these turned out!

ReplyDeleteThese are amazing and you are the best mom! What other mom encourages their kid to get dirty during a photo shoot?! I especially love the one of him sitting in the dump truck! Noah would be so excited but I think he'd spend half the time confused that he's allowed to get dirty and play ;)
ReplyDeleteOh My Wow!! I love these photos!! I love that you just let him have at it! Good job mommy!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Cool mom award goes to you! :) I bet you had to drag him out kicking and screaming....at least I know that is what would happen with Carter man. I'm also amazed that you were able to keep Mac off of the Bobcat in the background!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are the best!! It's so much easier to just take a kid out to have fun and snap photos of them while they're doing it rather than try to get them interested in a photo shoot. Kids are so NOT into photos lol
ReplyDelete#1. This is amazing.
ReplyDelete#2. Elyse would probably freak out just looking at these pictures. She's seriously such a girl.
